Louisiana's Wetlands @ National Geographic Magazine The nightmare has become a reality for New Orleans, and the Gulf coast from Louisana to Mississippi to Alabama and even as far away as Florida, is reeling from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The most difficult part about reading this article is trying to remember that it was written almost a year ago, and that it could have been alleviated, if not avoided, had someone had the courage to do what was right and decent.
